First ilfa trial to take place on lough lene

The Irish Ladies Flyfishing Association will be holding their first trial of the 2015 angling season on Lough Lene (Collinstown) on Saturday April 18.

This is the first of four trials which will be used to select the home team for the Ladies International Fly fishing Championships in 2016 when the Irish team will travel to Scotland to fish at Carron Valley.

The event is open to all members. To become a member please visit www.irishladiesflyfishing.com and in order to take part in this competition it’s essential to become a member before Thursday April 9.

The event is being organised in conjunction with the Lough Lene Anglers’ Association.

For women who would like to learn to fly-fish, there will be several days throughout the year to introduce women to angling and social days for members and their friends.
