Charity concert in aid of the ciaran maree cancer research and dev fund

Fergal Flaherty, Matt Leavy, Eddie Quinn and Maria Butterly are uniting once again in The Headford Arms Hotel Kells, on Wednesday 29th July 2015 at 8pm for the annual Charity Concert in aid of the Ciaran Maree Cancer Research and Development Fund.

This wonderful music concert aptly called “That Holiday Feeling” is in its third year of success and boasts a great night of music and dance suitable for all ages. This year promises to be an even greater event with these talented singer/song writers bringing to the spotlight a hybrid of contemporary and traditional Irish folk music and American country-bluegrass and promises to give you a night of true nostalgia and classic entertainment.

The Ciaran Maree Cancer Research and Development Fund would like to offer a sincere thank you to Fergal, Matt, Eddie and Maria for taking time out of their busy schedules to perform on behalf of Ciaran’s Fund “The night has always been hugely popular among lovers of these wonderfully talented musicians and we are always overwhelmed at the support and donations people give on the night, their generosity knows no bounds” comments Tracey Maree, Ciaran’s sister.

Ciaran’s Fund has raised over €300,000 from benefit charity nights such as this. The Fund is associated with the Mater Foundation and has recently contributed to the newly launched Carney Oncology/Haematology Unit, a fantastic new unit that occupies the 7th floor of the new Mater hospital in Dublin. Patients of the new unit will have access to top cancer treatments and care in this newly purpose built day unit that provides a caring and supportive environment.

The money raised by you for the new unit was completely absorbed into the project with none kept aside for administration purposes. The Mater receives no government funding and must raise at least 4 million Euros a year to support all the essential projects, clinics, specialist equipment and research it undertakes. They are in the business of saving people’s lives.

About Ciaran’s Fund

The Ciaran Maree Cancer Research and Development Fund was created in 2007 after the Maree Family lost their youngest son and brother to a very rare and progressive form of cancer.

The Fund was set up by the family and friends of Ciaran in the hope of raising money for cancer in a bid to improve cancer treatments, patient care and above all to increase the awareness for people both young and old of keeping their health in check.

Tickets (€20) and credit card bookings are available from The Headford Arms reception or by calling 046 92 40063.
