Online resources available 24/7 to library members

Westmeath Libraries have announced access to a new range of online resources, available 24/7 to all library members.

They are providing access to thousands of e-books and e-audiobooks, full colour e-magazines and journals, online newspapers, online courses and online Language courses – all for free.

All you need is an up-to-date library membership, your library card number and a computer, smartphone or tablet, and you have a world of resources at your fingertips.

Borrow Box, Westmeath County Library’s new e-book and e-audiobook online lending service, allows users to borrow five e-books and five e-audio books from a wide selection of adult fiction, non-fiction and a great collection of children’s titles.

Zinio Magazines gives access to a wide range of full-colour, interactive digital magazines for young and old, including gardening, politics, photography, pop culture, interior design, women’s health, history, economics and many more (all free).

To use the service for the first time, you will need to create an account using your email address.

Proquest is the essential newspaper database for researchers. This service covers current and recent issues of international and national newspapers with myriad search options.

Universal Class is a new online e-learning offering access to more than 400 courses.

If you are planning for summer holidays, a business trip or even brushing up on core Irish or English skills, check out the Mango Languages service. With some 70 language courses available, there is something for everyone to try.

So whether sitting on a train or bus or relaxing at home, Westmeath Libraries can help you pass the time productively.
