Whilst we are always advising women on how to care for their skin, we sometimes forget that in the 21st century man also cares about his skin too. Taking correct care of your skin is so important and it is vital to get into good habits to continue on throughout life. Men are lucky because their skin is usually oilier and tougher, thus the ageing process is slower, but blocked pores cause problems as men’s pores are generally larger than women's. With so many fantastic products on the market for men these days where do we begin? Here are a few of Whelehans favourite products!
Men who have particularly oily skin should use a good, gentle exfoliating cleanser daily to keep the skin clean and stop pore blockage and spots. Always be careful not to use products that are too abrasive as they can cause problems such as over drying the skin. THALGO® Men Detoxifying gel is an excellent cleanser as it soothes the skin with relieving blue algae extract.
Keeping the skin well hydrated is very important too. Always use a good moisturiser to prevent skin becoming dry and flaky. Mature skin should use THALGO® men regenerating cream which contains anti-wrinkle properties and revitalises the skin.
Some men have problems with burning and sensitivity after shaving, using an aftershave balm can help to rectify this problem as it is moisturising, hydrating, soothing and calming.
