Glenda Duff with her sons Callum (10) and James (8) have been knocking on doors around their home area looking for warm clothing to donate to homeless people.

Killucan family on mission to help the homeless

Glenda Duff is on a mission to help the homeless, and she's recruited family, friends and neighbours in Killucan to help.

Putting a call out to the wider community, Glenda said: "Hello everyone. I'm trying to get some bits together - blankets, sleeping bags, tents - as I'm heading out to help homeless people on Monday night.

"It's so cold out there and I can't help thinking about those poor women, men and children. It's just not right, please help."

" I would be very grateful if anyone can help. I could meet you or you can come with us to help."

Glenda is going to Dublin on Monday night to volunteer with Cairdeas Homeless Action Group, and ahead of that she will be doing a collection at the Tesco Kinnegad car park at 11am on Monday.

She, as well as Lisa McMahon in Mullingar, will accept donations at their homes as well. Contact them on Facebook to make arrangements.

Glenda added: "I would like to say thank you for all the help I've had so far, especially to the people who are coming up on Monday night."
