Special Antique Jewellery & Collectable Auction Tomorrow Sunday
Well-known Meath antique auctioneers, Matthews of Oldcastle, conduct an interesting sale tomorrow Sunday at 2pm. Over 400 Lots of Jewellery Silver & Collectables gathered throughout the year that have been saved for this annual specialty auction.
The top lot is expected to be Lot 200, an antique Art Deco diamond ring of approximately four carats. Its a rarity the auctioneer expects to fetch €20,000 - €30,000. 'These sorts of old cut stones are not seen nowadays' says the auctioneer Damien Matthews, 'and especially not of this colour and clarity. It's actually a conservative estimate, given the quality, but we'll wait and see, we'll know on the day'.
Other entries include a rare automotive collectable, a Rolls Royce car showroom model of the company emblem, the Spirit of Ecstasy. Designed by Charles Robinson Sykes its chrome plated and stands approximately 2ft High on a marble base. This lot is expected to fetch €500 - €800.
