Cannabis with street value of €130,000 seized

Cannabis with an estimated street value of €130,000 has been seized today.

In a joint intelligence led operation involving Revenue officers, the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau and the Westmeath Divisional Drug Unit, 6.5kgs of herbal cannabis with an estimated street value of €130,000 was seized.

A man in his 50s was arrested and is currently detained at Mullingar Garda Station.

These joint operations targeting the illegal importation, supply and sale of drugs in the Mullingar area are ongoing.
