Special screening of ‘Wonder’ to benefit LARCC

Monday November 13 is World Kindness Day, and to celebrate the day in cinemas around the world the new Julia Roberts/Owen Wilson film ‘Wonder’ will be screened free of charge with different charities benefiting. In Ireland the cancer care charity LARCC is the beneficiary of all the screenings in selected IMC cinemas.

Based on the New York Times bestseller, ‘Wonder’ tells the inspiring story of August Pullman, a boy with facial differences who enters fifth grade, attending a mainstream elementary school for the first time. August is played by Jacob Tremblay and Julia Roberts and Owen Wilson are his parents.

‘Wonder’ will be on screens in the following cinemas on Monday 13 November at 6.15pm: IMC Athlone, Ballina, Carlow, Dun Laoighaire, Dundalk, Galway, Santry, Tallaght and Tullamore, along with the Savoy in Dublin).

IMC and LARCC ask that film goers make a donation to LARCC on site in lieu of paying for a ticket.

In 2002, LARCC was set up by Ita Bourke, who along with Frank Russell and Karen Daly realised that those suffering the effects of cancer needed a dedicated place for cancer therapy and support.

Unfortunately Ita lost her own battle with cancer the week before LARCC opened its first house but her vision lives on for what she wanted LARCC to be for cancer sufferers across the country.
