It’s another great day for Westmeath racehorse owner Michael O’Leary at Aintree: for the second year in a row, his horse Tiger Roll has won the Aintree Grand National, with, again, Davy Russell in the saddle.

It is now three wins in four years for O’Leary’s Gigginstown House Stud: his horse “Rule The World” won the race in 2016.

Tiger Roll, who was race favourite, is the first horse since Red Rum to win the Grand National two years in a row.

There will be some anticipation among Ryanair passengers this evening: after last year’s victory, Mr O’Leary, CEO of Ryanair, announced a free bar for all on the flight he took home.
