Prestige diploma for Mullingar stylist

Mullingar made its name known at the OMC World Hairdressing Championships in Paris two weeks ago thanks to the efforts of stylist Patrick Havelin and model Sinéad Corcoran.

Patrick, who is based at TrichOOrganics in Blackhall Place, Mullingar, represented the Irish Hairdressing Council, having been invited to compete by Maeve O’Healy-Hart, from the council.

There were around 1,500 competitors from France, the USA, Japan, China and Italy (to name a few) and the many categories ranged from salon cut to bridal, and from fantasy to colour.

Patrick chose ‘gala’, which he described as “red carpet up styling”.

His model, Sinéad Corcoran, is a professional dancer based in Paris, who was his client when she lived in Mullingar.

Although this was Patrick’s first time to compete at the world championships, which this year were at Paris Expo Porte de Versailles on September 14-16, he has already started training for the next two years – Paris again next year, then Japan in 2021 – hoping to add to the prestige diploma he received for his entry this year.
