Mullingar Arts Centre also contributes to the Mullingar Chamber event every year, and on Friday some of the characters from this year's panto, Aladdin, showed up to amuse the crowd.
Before the countdown to lights on, Santa spoke to the boys and girls, giving a reminder about being environmentally responsible at Christmas time, and Clelia Murphy and Sean Doyle from Fair City (and currently starring in The Valley of the Squinting Windows in Mullingar Arts Centre) performed the official switch-on of the Christmas lights.
