‘High School Musical’ by Loreto College and Coláiste Mhuire TY students

The performances of ‘High School Musical’ by TY students from Loreto College and Coláiste Mhuire last week were the product of much hard work, dedication, and no small amount of nerves.

It all paid off, though as from the opening, Wednesday last, November 27, the sold out audiences greeted the show with great enthusiasm.

Starring in the musical were leads Emma Sheerin, Michael Cusak, Evie Daly and Mark Langtry, who were supported by a talented ensemble and hard working stage crew.

The well known story of the blossoming romance between a high school jock and the new smart girl at school was performed with great gusto and eye catching choreography.

The unsung heroes on the stage crew also worked tirelessly in the lead-up to the show, and throughout the evening, to ensure that the performances were such a great success.

The show would not have been possible without the direction of Paul Norton, the choreography of Julianne McNamara, the dedication of musical director and producer Lynn Brophy, and the guidance of TY co-ordinator Catherine Gallagher.

The result of all the hard work by the ensemble, stage crew and directors was a tremendously successful and enjoyable show, which will be remembered by both audiences and performers for years to come.
