200 apply for 25 jobs at new Mr Price outlet

When the discount retailer Mr Price announced plans to open a new store in Mullingar, they were inundated with applications for the 25 jobs on offer.

Laura Blighe, marketing manager, said: “We’re delighted with the reaction. It’s our second in Westmeath and there’s been a huge amount of interest from applicants looking to join the team. “We’re looking forward to the opening of the store, in Canal Court, Mullingar, on Thursday January 30.

“The premises had vacant for some time and we are delighted to be bringing some bargains into the area!”

In the last four years Mr Price has re-opened 27 vacant units. The fully Irish owned retailer will now have 49 stores in 23 counties, and more than 1,000 staff.
