Mergon International, whose headquarters are in Castlepollard, was the proud recipient of two awards at the IMR Manufacturing and Supply Chain Awards 2020 at City West on January 29 last.

The company won the overall award of Grand Prix Manufacturer of the Year and the IT Manufacturing Team of the Year, ahead of global enterprises such Dell, Pfizer, Boston Scientific and Seagate.

The IMR Manufacturing and Supply Chain Awards, now in its second year, showcases exceptional achievement, teamwork and innovation in Irish manufacturing. More than 50 companies competed in 15 categories in a competition that is unique in recognising the achievements of Irish manufacturing companies and of collaborating teams within them, and the awards ceremony served as a showcase for the very best of Irish manufacturing.

Mergon was founded in 1981 as a plastic moulding solutions business.

It has grown to become a global specialist provider of technical services, systems and components to leading brands in the automotive, industrial and healthcare sectors including Tesla, Toyota, Honda, Xerox and Abbott, among others.

Aisling Nolan, general manager, Mergon International, said: "While representing different sectors and regions, finalists had one thing in common – embracing technology and innovative thinking to ensure they can compete internationally and continue to grow.

"We are so proud to have been presented with both awards. They acknowledge the importance of the ongoing commitment at Mergon to innovation and continuous improvement and most importantly recognise the outstanding work of each member of our dedicated, professional and enthusiastic team."
