Ireland v France game postponed

Game called off due to coronavirus

The Irish rugby team's Six Nations match against France in Paris on Saturday has been postponed due to fears about the coronavirus.

Once the French government announced on Sunday that gatherings of more than 1,000 were banned in a bid to stop the transmission of the coronavirus, it was expected that this weekend's eagerly anticipated clash would be called off.

According to French media, Ireland's postponed Six Nations matches against France and Italy will be rescheduled to take place in October along with any other fixtures in the competition that have fallen victim to the coronavirus.
