Darragh's big birthday postponed

Darragh Poleon celebrated his first birthday with a small party on Saturday, when the only guests were his father, Darren and his mother Veronica Daly, at their house in Ardleigh Vale, Mullingar.

Veronica explained to the Westmeath Examiner: "We had intended having a big birthday celebration for Darragh for his first birthday, but due to the coronavirus we had to cancel it.

"We came up with the idea of putting up the sign and we said we’d have a small quarantine birthday for him, and during the summer, when hopefully things are lifted and we’re all back to normal, we’ll be able to have a big birthday bash for him.

"Sorry that all the family and friends couldn’t be here today, but when we do have the party, and we’ll do it in full birthday style."
