Bunch of Thyme gets the ‘Moloko’ makeover

Irish singer songwriter Róisín Murphy, formerly known as Moloko, has just covered Foster and Allen’s hit song, A Bunch of Thyme.

The ‘Sing It Back’ songstress had international success in the 90s as one half of duo, Moloko, with Mark Brydon.

Foster and Allen appeared with A Bunch of Thyme on Top of the Pops back in 1982.

Singing a rendition of the song from her home in lockdown, Murphy says: “Thyme to Reflect. #ABunchOfThyme we were thought this song in school, as you can see I didn’t memorise it exactly.”

Born in Arklow, County Wicklow, Murphy moved with her family to Manchester when she was 12.

She recently compiled a list of her favourite Irish folk and rock songs to make you “misty-eyed”.

Her latest track, Murphy’s Law, was released in March. she was due to appear in Body and Soul in Ballinlough Castle before it was cancelled due to the Covid19 virus.
