Good2Talk prepare to reopen on June 29

The Good2Talk Westmeath team are getting ready to reopen their doors to the public on Monday June 29 next following a tough few months in lockdown.

CEO Kathleen Poynton said that while services have continued via Zoom and other portals, the team are eager to get back to face to face therapies (while abiding by social distancing guidelines).

Their office at 1 College Street, Mullingar, has been thoroughly prepared for the upcoming reopening over the last week and the staff have been eager to thank local business and patrons for their support and fundraising during the lockdown.

Good2Talk chairman, Tomás Nally, expressed particular gratitude to Westmeath County Council, local business and to individuals for the monetary support the service has received over the last few months.

He said that Good2Talk relies heavily on fundraising events and that source of income was down 80% during the lockdown period.

He said that money should not be an obstacle when seeking counselling or support services and that Good2Talk work with individuals regardless of their ability to pay.

Many of those who use G2T services, later return to do fundraising events.

If you would like to donate directly to Good2Talk a link is provided on their Facebook page.
