Parishioners attend Mass in their cars

Clonmellon news

Mass has resumed in the Clonmellon Killallon parish, in Clonmellon Church on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 10am.

Two Masses (photo, above) celebrated by Very Rev Fr Sean Garland, PP, on Sunday last, at 10am and 11.30am, in the car park of St Bartholomew’s Church, Killallon were well attended at social distances as people were in their cars.

A big thank-you to Fr Garland and the new parish committee who have worked hard at organising for the return of Mass.

Market success

Clonmellon Community Council were delighted at the attendance at their first market, on Sunday last, 5 July.

While the weather started bad in the morning, by the time the stallholders had everything ready, the sun was out.

There was plenty to choose from, venison; organic eggs; fresh fish from Donegal; homemade jam and chutney; fresh fruit and vegetables; local honey; cheese and charcuterie platters; home baking, beeswax wraps; fresh flowers; decoupage and homemade craft; wooden garden furniture; homemade soaps; wood craft; turf and kindling and more.

The cafe at Market Square was serving tea and coffee.

There was a lovely atmosphere and both stallholders and customers are looking forward to the next Farmers Market, on Sunday 19 July, 11.30am-1.30pm (and every second Sunday).
