Planning sought for new development in Tyrrellspass

Planning permission has been sought for a new residential development on the main street in Tyrrellspass.

The application by YMS Building Services Ltd includes details for the construction of six two-bed apartments and five three-bed houses.

The application also includes details for the demolition of an existing gable wall at the entrance to the site, to be replaced with a two-storey office building.

In a letter to Westmeath County Council, the YMS Building Services agent John Madden says that the proposed development “will provide much needed affordable housing to the area which is within walking distance of all essential amenities”.

The decision due date for the application is August 30.
