12 patients on trolleys at Mullingar today

There are 12 patients on trolleys at the Midland Regional Hospital, Mullingar today.

The figure is from the daily Trolley Watch survey conducted by the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation.

All 12 patients are in the Emergency Department (ED).

The number for the Midland Regional Hospital, Tullamore is two.

The Mullingar hospital number is the fifth highest today.

The highest number is 33 at University Hospital Limerick, 27 of whom are in the ED.

There are 18 patients on trolleys at Sligo University Hospital, 10 of them in the ED.

At Naas General Hospital the number is 13, all in the ED. There are also 13 patients on trolleys at St Luke’s General Hospital, Kilkenny, all in the ED.

At Cork University Hospital there are 12 patients on trolleys, all in the ED.

Today's national total is 146, of whom 132 are on EDs, and of whom six are younger than 16.
