10 patients on trolleys at Mullingar today

There are 10 patients on trolleys at the Midland Regional Hospital, Mullingar.

According ot the daily Trolley Watch survey conducted by the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation, all 10 patients are in the Emergency Department (ED).

The hospital with the most patients on trolleys is University Hospital Limerick, where there are 53, including 39 in the ED.

At Cork University Hospital, there are 22 patients on trolleys, all in the ED.

The number at St Luke’s General Hospital, Kilkenny is 16, 10 in the ED.

The number for the Midland Regional Hospital, Tullamore is zero.

Today's national total is 160, of whom 133 are on EDs, and of whom two are younger than 16.
