Relatively low number of patients on trolleys in Mullingar today

The number of patients on trolleys at the Midland Regional Hospital, Mullingar, is relatively low today, at six.

The daily Trolley Watch survey conducted by the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation, has found that all six of the patients are in the Emergency Department (ED).

The number for the Midland Regional Hospital, Tullamore today is 4, all in the ED.

Today's national total in the survey is 242, of whom 212 are on EDs.

Nine of those patients are younger than 16.

The hospital with the highest number of patients on trolleys today is again University Hospital Limerick, where there are 53 - of whom 42 are in the ED.
