These are the local outlets signed up for ‘stay and spend’ scheme

Just under 40 accommodation and food businesses in Westmeath are currently included in the Stay and Spend Scheme, which comes into effect from today (Thursday).

The scheme provides a maximum of €125 in income tax credits to taxpayers who spend up to €625 in the hospitality sector between now and the end of April.

Hospitality providers register with Revenue to participate in the scheme and, to date, 39 businesses in Westmeath have done so.

All the hotels in Athlone are part of the scheme, as are the Hodson Bay Hotel and Wineport Lodge.

Businesses must have a current tax clearance certificate and must be registered with official bodies such as Fáilte Ireland or the HSE Environmental Health Service in order to be part of the scheme.
