Buy a unique lockdown present and support a local charity

If you are looking for a unique lockdown present this year, Rochforts and John McCauley might just have what you need. Rochforts have teamed up with local photographer and charity founder John McCauley to produce a range of gifts that are uniquely Mullingar and also uniquely raise funds for John’s charity, Tanzanian Heavenly Homes.

Tomás Nally from Rochforts explained how he came together with John to produce a 2021 Mullingar calendar and Mullingar postcards showcasing the area.

Both are proving quite a hit already, and 25% of the sales go directly to the Tanzanian Heavenly Homes charity.

The photos chosen include scenic views from around the town some beautiful one-off nature shots unique to the area.

The idea, said Tomás, came from two fronts: one, to promote Mullingar to a wider national audience; and two, to showcase John’s photographic and charity work.

Rochforts has long been a supporter of everything Mullingar, producing signs and fridge magnets promoting the town and its surrounding area.

To launch the Mullingar 2021 calendars and postcards, there is an exhibition of framed works by John at Rochforts Superstore.

Sales of those will also support Tanzanian Heavenly Homes.

The exhibition will run for several weeks but John and Tomás recommend that people shop early to avoid disappointment.

The Mullingar 2021 calendars retail at €10 and there is a limited quantity, get yours now in time for Christmas.
