Government considering extending mid-term break

The government is considering extending the upcoming mid-term break for schools in an attempt to reduce the spread of Covid-19.

According to a reports in the national media, the government has discussed adding an extra week to the mid term break but have not made a decision yet.

A number of other European countries have already decided to extend their mid-term breaks in a bid to reduce infection rates as the second wave of the coronavirus sweeps through the continent.

Schools are scheduled to close from the October bank holiday on Monday October 26 to Friday October 30. If the government decide to extend the break, children won't return to school until Monday November 9.
