Mullingar actor Niamh Algar is up for four Irish Film & Television Academy (IFTA) Awards on Sunday night.

Niamh has been nominated in the Actress in a Supporting Role Film category for her performance in Calm With Horses, which was released to widespread acclaim earlier this year, in the Actress in a Lead Role Drama category for her performance in the Channel Four series The Virtues and in the Actress in a Supporting Role Drama for Pure, another Channel Four drama.

It was also announced earlier this week that she has been nominated for the Screen Ireland Rising Star award.

Niamh is earning rave reviews for her latest role in Raised By Wolves, a Ridley Scott directed science-fiction drama currently being broadcast on HBO Max.

Due to Covid-19, this year's IFTAs will be a virtual event. Among those taking part on the night are Normal People stars Daisy Edgar-Jones and Paul Mescal, legendary film director Martin Scorsese, Liam Neeson and President Michael D Higgins.

The ceremony will be broadcast on Virgin Media One at 10pm on Sunday.
