Dry and cloudy day ahead

Holding dry across most areas today in just light west to southwest breezes.

Cloud will gradually increase with some rain moving into Atlantic counties later in the evening: southerly winds picking up in strength later too.

Tonight will become wet countrywide as a band of rain continues to move eastwards across the country.

South to south west breezes will be moderate, occasionally fresh. Lowest temperatures of 4 to 7 degrees.

Tomorrow, Friday will see any lingering overnight rain clear east and southeast coastal counties.

Once again, most areas will hold dry for daylight hours with good sunny spells and well scattered showers, mainly in the northwest.

Later in the evening rain will move into the west, turning heavy with strong winds.
