Weather: wet and windy

Wet and windy today, with heavy spells of rain and fresh to strong southwest winds.

Met Éireann says the rain will be heaviest across the western half of the country with the ongoing risk of flooding.

They've also issued a couple of yellow weather warnings for those parts of the country, for heavy rainfall and strong winds. Some very high seas too with windiest conditions across western counties.

Drier intervals developing across the east and south but it will remain cloudy.

Very mild with highest temperatures of 13 to 15 degrees Celsius.

Tonight will remain wet and windy for the first half, however the rain and wind will ease off overnight.

Mild to start, before turning cooler later, with lowest temperatures of 6 to 10 degrees Celsius.

Fresh to strong southwest winds will veer westerly overnight and moderate.
