First Mullingar SEC meeting this month

The first Mullingar Sustainable Energy Community (SEC) meeting is on November 30 at 8pm.

Across Ireland, hundreds of communities are working together to become more sustainable in terms of their energy use.

The reason is that it helps communities reduce electricity bill, improve quality of life with warmer and more sustainable homes, bring communities together and protect the environment, all at the same time.

In light of all that, Mullingar Sustainable Energy Community, a Mullingar Chamber project, has been established.

There are various grants, supports and guidance available through the Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland for SEC communities and the Mullingar group hope to work on making the town the low carbon town for Westmeath.

If you are interested in getting involved, contact Cllr Hazel Smyth – hazel.smyth@westmeathcoco.ie or 087 7445 413.
