Club Iarmhí draw to take place tomorrow week

Due to circumstances beyond anyone’s control, the Club Iarmhí draw, which was due to take place on September 14 had to be postponed and will now take place on Monday, December 14.

The prizes for the draw are €5,000 (1st), €2,000 (2nd) and €1,000 (3rd). Tickets are €20 each and are available from all Club Iarmhí committee members and your local GAA club.

The Club Iarmhí committee would like to wish the Westmeath ladies’ football team the very best of luck in the All-Ireland Intermediate Final.

The committee ran a very successful socially distanced fundraising golf classic in Mullingar Golf Club a few months ago. There was a magnificent turnout on the day, and the Westmeath GAA supporters’ group would like to thank all of the GAA teams and individual teams who supported it.

O’Brien’s Renault, Mullingar were the main sponsors, and Club Iarmhí is grateful to them for their support this year and over the last number of years. Other sponsors on the day were Tom Hunt, Bo Allen, Fagan Office Supplies, Joe Tynan and Eddie Rockets, each of whom is thanked for their support.

Club Iarmhí also thank all of the Mullingar Golf Club staff for the excellent condition of the course, and for providing a lovely meal which everyone enjoyed.

Events like this don’t happen of their own accord, and the committee would like to thank both Des Maguire and Pat Mulligan for organising the golf classic, and Patricia Clinton, Rose Corcoran and Olivia Corcoran for cooking the burgers for the hungry golfers at the ninth hole.

The winners on the day were as follow:

1st place – Tom Flanagan, Kevin Geoghegan, David Sloan and Declan Murphy

2nd place – Michael Ennis, Brendan Daly, Lockie Guilfoyle and Dermot Faulkner

3rd place – Tommy Cleary, Seamus Conroy, Mick Wynne and Dermot Egerton

Non GUI – Sean Sheridan; Philip Sheridan, Brendan Sheridan and Gerry Sheridan

Once again, thanks to all participants and organisers for making the Club Iarmhí Golf Classic another successful fundraising event.
