Weather: outbreaks of rain today with heavier spells tonight

Outbreaks of rain today across mid and south Leinster. Drier further north with some bright spells.

Afternoon temperatures generally 7 to 9 degrees, but reaching just 3 to 5 degrees in the north of the province. Light easterly winds over the north of the province with variable breezes elsewhere.

Heavier spells of rain will move in across the province tonight. The rain will be patchier in southern coastal counties.

Coldest early over the northeastern half of the province with lowest temperatures of 1 to 4 degrees in light southeast or variable breezes there. Further south, lows of 8 to 10 degrees in moderate southwesterlies.

Tomorrow, Wednesday, will be generally cloudy with outbreaks of rain and drizzle clearing northeastwards. Some dry interludes will develop through the afternoon.

Isolated showers moving in from the west by evening. Highest temperatures of 10 to 12 degrees in moderate southwesterly breezes.
