Three Westmeath companies to exhibit at Showcase Ireland Virtual Rooms

Three Westmeath companies, Mullingar Pewter/ Silver Spirit, KC Leisure and Marketing and Meab Enamels, will target international buyers this month at Showcase Ireland’s Creative Expo, in a new Virtual Showroom format (January 25-29).

Mullingar Pewter/ Silver Spirit have been making pewter giftware in Mullingar since 1974. Their craftspeople specialise in old casting methods, meticulous assembly and delicate hand finishing to create their wide ranging, high quality, unique collections.

These collections, inspired by ancient manuscripts and Celtic crosses, include goblets, beakers, measures, gents’ watches, money clips, keychains, jewellery boxes, whiskey flasks, wedding gifts and much more.

Also in Mullingar, KC Leisure and Marketing (KCS) is a manufacturer of quality club gear, class hoodies, retro clothing and licensed merchandise. Since 1996, the company has been producing high quality personalised garments in a range that includes teamwear, athleisure, T-shirts, leisurewear, sports bags and training aids. KCS has also been awarded a licence by the GAA and LGFA to manufacture playing kits for clubs worldwide.

Meab Enamels will also exhibit at this year’s expo. The Multyfarnham based Irish designer creates handcrafted jewellery, silk scarves, face masks, eye covers and pillowcases. Meab and her daughter Clair craft each piece by hand using a detailed enameling process, making each piece of jewellery unique to each customer. They pride themselves on creating jewellery and art that is authentic, affordable and appealing.

Chair of Showcase Ireland, Eddie Shanahan, said: “Ireland boasts a wealth of talent and creativity and while the pandemic prevents the physical event from taking place, we are delighted to continue to provide a platform for creators to showcase their products to Irish and international buyers.

“Though this year’s event will look different, we are confident that we will demonstrate the vitality of the Irish craft and design sector to both new and returning buyers.

“We will also relaunch our Showcase website as a Source Guide, with more than 200 designers and makers offering business to business facilities, for Irish and international buyers.”

Exhibitors have been fully equipped via a specially developed masterclass in virtual trading, including how to set up a visually appealing online showroom, managing a virtual meeting, storytelling and how to trade effectively in a virtual setting.
