Minister McEntee to address Mullingar Soroptimists

International Women’s Day 2021

Soroptimists Mullingar and District are hosting a webinar free to the public on March 8 to celebrate International Women’s Day in collaboration with Healthy Ireland Healthy Westmeath.

In previous years, this celebration comprised a get-together for women locally with dinner, entertainment and presentations from guest speakers who shared their inspirational stories with the audience. Due to current Covid-19 restrictions, the event will now be by webinar and there is a wealth of talent lined up to entertain and inspire.

The key guest speaker is Minister for Justice Helen McEntee, who will talk about the challenges of the year gone by and her hopes and aspirations for the future.

Local business women Caroline Hynes, Claire O’Neill and Katie Murphy will speak of their experience of the last year and the impact of Covid-19 on their business and the changes and challenges that they have encountered as business women.

Sandra Dolan and Maedhbh Hughes will provide musical entertainment and Mary Hughes will recite some humorous tales.

One of the positive aspects of having a webinar event is the opportunity it gives for people to join from anywhere in the world – just sit back and enjoy the evening in your private setting.

Registration details can be found on Facebook Mullingar and District Soroptimist, Twitter @MullingarSI or email sarah.mccormack41@gmail.com, phone Anne Melly 086 8232868 or any member of Soroptimists Mullingar and District.

Soroptimists Mullingar and District are looking forward to another inspiring International Women’s Day celebration and hope that you will take up the invitation to join this uplifting, inspirational and entertaining evening on Monday March 8 at 7.30pm.
