Council has met Ardmore Road residents to discuss upgrades

A local council member has asked that council officials meet residents of the Ardmore Road in advance of beginning any works in the area.

Cllr Andrew Duncan made his request at the February meeting of the Municipal District of Mullingar Kinnegad, where he had a question listed asking for details of plans for the upgrade of footpaths on Ardmore Road.

The official written response by the municipal staff stated that details of the Ardmore Road footpath upgrade were recently on public display in the Part 8 planning process.

The Fine Gael man enquired if officials would meet residents there to discuss whether any portions of property would have to be purchased by the council to facilitate its plans for the road.

Director of services Martin Murray said that in advance of putting the plans on display, the council had met all landowners set to be affected by the need to procure land.
