Mullingar town centre parking arrangements.

Part of Blackhall to be assigned for short-term parking

A quarter of the spaces in the council car park at Blackhall, Mullingar are to be assigned for short-term parking (two-hour maximum) next week.

In a statement this morning, Westmeath County Council said: Following proposals by the elected members of the Municipal District of Mullingar Kinnegad, supported by Mullingar Chamber of Commerce, approximately 25% of the car parking spaces in Blackhall will become short term (2 hour maximum parking) from Monday next, March 1.

These spaces are closest to the town centre and the proposal was put forward to encourage shoppers to park and have ease of access to the main shopping district and services and was agreed at the September Municipal District Meeting

Parking meters in these locations have been modified and the area is marked by signage. A map is available on our website www.westmeathcoco.ie showing the above changes.

This change to zoning, allied with the recent introduction of parking by app in September last, are part of continued efforts to support the daytime shopping, business and social life of Mullingar town centre.
