Dublin GAA players breach Covid-19 rules to engage in training session

A number of high-profile Dublin GAA senior football players were involved in a collective training session in breach of public health rules.

According to today's Irish Independent, at least nine players engaged in a series of group training drills on Wednesday morning at the Innisfails GAA club in North Dublin, the session occurring barely 12 hours after Croke Park issued a circular to all clubs and counties, warning that any breaches of the current ban on collective training could put the GAA’s overall plans for a return “in serious jeopardy”.

Among those reported to be in the session included Footballer of the Year Brian Fenton, Jonny Cooper, and Brian Howard.

The report went on to say that players arrived before first light for the session which was overseen by a coach.

They took part in a series of fitness drills and practised ball skills while a man appeared to keep watch close to the entrance to the facility.
