Ray of sunshine as fine weather set to continue for days

Ireland is in for a spell of unusually settled and sunny weather, with no rain whatsoever forecast for the coming days.

After some cold days and nights earlier this month, things have turned in a summery direction with daytime temperatures expected to linger in the mid-teens well into next week.

Tonight will be chilly, with temperatures of 0 to 5 degrees in a light breeze, and tomorrow (Friday) will be dry and bright with hazy sunshine and temperatures ranging from 13 to 17 degrees.

The nighttime temperatures will be a little milder over the weekend, while dry, settled and sunny conditions will persist each day, with temperatures of between 12 and 18 degrees.

It will be mildest in the west, and coolest in southern and eastern coastal counties.

At the moment it looks like Monday and Tuesday will remain dry, with a possible return of some rainfall from the west around the middle of next week.
