Friday 'very warm or hot with sunny spells'
It is to stay “very warm or hot and dry for the rest of today with hazy sunshine in light, locally moderate, east to southeast breezes” according to Met Éireann.
The state weather service says the solar UV index is high for tomorrow, Friday, and Saturday.
“Tonight, warm, dry and muggy tonight in light southeast or variable breezes. Feeling uncomfortable for some as temperatures remain above 16 to 18 Celsius for much of the night. Isolated mist patches will form.
“Friday will be very warm or hot with sunny spells.
“Scattered heavy showers or thunderstorms will develop in the southern half of Leinster during the late morning and early afternoon but it should remain dry elsewhere.
“Showers will die out towards evening.
“Highs of 25 to 28 (possibly 29 in northeast) Celsius in light to moderate easterly breezes, but cooler in coastal counties with highs of 22 to 25 Celsius due to the onshore breeze.”
