Cronin return to live stage at Mearescourt festival

After 18 months, Longford Mullingar band Cronin have announced their return to the stage this September.

With live music back, Cronin have shared the news that they will play three shows this month.

The first of the three is alongside The Blizzards at Mearescourt this Friday 10 September.

After that, they travel to Drumlish in Longford for a free show on September 18, followed by Dublin’s The Grand Social on September 23.

Cronin are brothers Johnny and Michael Cronin, alongside collaboration from Mullingar musicians Brian Murphy and Fiachra Milner.

The live gigs will give the group the chance to play to live audiences for the first time in 18 months and they will likely play their latest single ‘Bank of Love’.

‘Bank of Love’ is the band’s first original single in two years and on Facebook, they explained the background to the song.

“This was one of the first songs after we started jamming to get the juices flowing, after not seeing each other for three months, when the first lockdown was lifted last year. We wanted to get back to the feeling of being a young band playing songs in a garage.”

Also, on social media the band posted how they were excited about getting back playing live gigs alongside The Blizzards and others.

“We can’t wait to get back playing live in front of an actual crowd this Friday September 10 at Music at Mearescourt”.

Tickets for the gigs are available via links on Cronin’s Facebook page, and tickets are available for the Mullingar show on https://www.mearescourt.ie/.
