Three hospitalised following Streamstown accident

Three people were taken to hospital in Tullamore yesterday, one with serious injuries, following an accident in Streamstown.

The two-vehicle crash happened around 9.50am on Tuesday morning along the main Mullingar Horseleap road.

A passenger in one of the vehicles, a woman in in her 60s, was taken to Midland Regional Hospital, Tullamore, with serious injuries.

The drivers of both vehicles, two men in their 50s, were also brought to the same hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

No other injuries have been reported, according to Gardaí.

The road was closed for a time in order for the scene to be technically examined by Forensic Collision Investigators but has since fully re-opened.

Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to come forward. Gardaí are also appealing for any road users travelling in the Streamstown area at this time and who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) to make this footage available to them.
