On this day in 1988, the RTE news featured 11 year old Deirdre Murtagh from Cloghan as she made her way to the get some groceries in the Cloughan Inn on Betsy the Friesian cow. Also in the report is her younger brother Brendan, who went on to become one of Westmeath's finest ever hurlers.
