New Forest golfers dress in pink for Hospice

The lady members of New Forest organised a three-ball scramble to raise funds for North Westmeath Hospice, and, with favourable weather, a good number of ladies and men turned out to play, in various shades of pink.

A delicious burger on the 10th tee box was welcome, thanks to Jimmy and catering staff, who looked after everyone on the day.

Some good scores were posted and this year they decided to have best all men’s team; best all ladies team; and best mixed team, and the winners were:

Best men’s team: Mark Kelly, Ben O’Connor, Adam Kelly, 60.6;

Best Ladies team: Ann O’Driscoll, Catherine Flynn, who had a hole in one on the second hole, Ann Marie Briody, 72.7;

Best mixed team: Joe Daly, Mary Daly and Imelda Mitchell, 68.5.

Thanks to everyone who played, made a donation, or helped in any way to make the day successful for this worthy cause.

A cheque to the value of €1,040 was presented by Lady Captain Mary Daly to Assumpta O’Meara and Carmel Cahill, from the North Westmeath Hospice fundraising committee.
