CTFL Global receives Business All-Star Thought Leader accreditation

Cian Farrell of CTFL Global has been recognised by the All-Ireland Business Foundation as an All-Star Thought Leader in the field of Engineering Education and Mentorship.

His rapid transition from a student at Imperial College London just last year into a multirole professional has been a whirlwind rise.

Cian, who is from the Westmeath Longford area, launched his new business (CTFL Global – cianfarrell.com) at the end of 2020 to assist students and academics with the challenges the Covid-19 pandemic brought.

Cian provided academic tutoring to individual students and groups of students from all corners of the world on a remote basis.

He has worked with a number of universities around the world through an educational consultancy service that he provides in the form of content development, module delivery, modern teaching techniques, and practical demonstration strategies.

Cian and his team of academics use strategies that enable students to easily interpret the topics they are being taught.

Tutoring sessions are delivered from a studio and a recently renovated engineering laboratory, enabling Cian and his team to deliver an enjoyable learning experience for students.

In addition to academic tutoring, others services they offer enable students to grow on an academic and professional basis in specific areas; communication and confidence skills, presentation skills, negotiation skills, career and academic mentorship, and speech and therapy.

Cian lectures in structural engineering at Technological University Dublin, and the teaching techniques he used during remote working have become a key part of his business.

Recent projects Cian and his team have worked on are ‘Sustainability for Engineers’, ‘Timber Engineering’, and ‘Coastal Erosion’.

Cian said: “I am thrilled to receive this accreditation and of course it would not have been possible without the team I have. We have worked with hundreds of students over the last year and multiple universities, from academic tutoring through to providing educational consultancy services for post graduate engineering modules.

“Being a trusted and competent Business All-Star Thought Leader in the field of engineering education and mentorship is something that we are incredibly proud of and we look forward to getting more involved with primary and secondary schools over the coming year.”

Deputy chair on the Adjudication Board, Kieran Ring, said: “Cian Farrell’s elevation from Rising Star to Thought Leader accreditation by the All Ireland Business Foundation is testament to his continued growth as an entrepreneur.

“We were particularly impressed by his clear vision for his practice. Cian has identified a niche in the global education market and is making a significant contribution to best practice on both sides of the education equation, teaching and learning.

“Above all, our further elevation of Cian is a testament to this exciting young man’s character, his intelligence and work ethic. We wish him every success for the future.”
