Toll charges to rise on the M4

Toll charges for motorists using the M4 are set to rise in the New Year.

From January 1. motorists driving to and from Dublin on the M4 will have to pay €3, an increase of ten cents on the current charge. It is the first increase since 2013.

According to a report in the Irish Times, charges on eight of Ireland's 11 toll motorways, tunnels and bridges are to rise next year. The M3 in Meath is only public private partnership motorway where the toll charge won't rise by 10c next year.

There will also be a 10c rise in the toll charges on the M50 for video account registered vehicles (€2.60 to €20.70) and for vehicles without toll tags or video accounts (€3.10 to €3.20). Toll charges on the M50 will not increase for toll tag users.
