N4 remains closed while gardaí continue accident investigation

The N4 west of Mullingar is closed today Friday February 4, following a serious accident near The Covert junction.

Westbound traffic is being diverted off the N4 at junction 17 via the R394 to Castlepollard, and via the R395 to Edgeworthstown, and on to the N4.

Eastbound traffic is being diverted off the N4 at The Covert junction via the L1819 to Multyfarnham, and the L1618 to Crookedwood, the R394 to junction 17 and on to the N4.

The road will remain closed until gardai finish their investigation.
