Plan for Castlepollard town park and pedestrian links

Westmeath County Council have announced the start of the Part 8 Statutory Public Consultation and Planning Process for the development of a town park at Mullingar Road, Castlepollard.

The proposed development is funded by the Rural Regeneration and Development Fund (RRDF), which is provided to support job creation in rural areas, address de-population of rural communities and support improvements in towns and villages and outlying areas, as set out in Project Ireland 2040.

Westmeath County Council have engaged the consultants Cooney Architects and Keys Monaghan Architects, joint venture, to prepare the design.

The proposal for the town park and associated pedestrian/cycle link is intended to positively enhance and regenerate the area with the creation of an active, sustainable amenity for residents and visitors.
