BMB Active confirm new committee

Spring is in the air and new shoots are emerging, including the newly elected committee members of BMB Active: Cyrian Connaughton, chairman, Joe Scally, vice-chairman, Peter Sheridan, treasurer, Theresa Bourke and Elizabeth McKeown, assistant treasurers, Marian Mooney, communications, Mary Frances Cox, BMB Active company member to ARI.

President of Active Retirement Ireland and local branch member, Anne Drury, addressed the AGM, recapping on the struggle of the pandemic restrictions, and summarising the resilience of the group in organising activities.

For example, BMB Active held competitions in writing, art, crafts. The telephone quiz was enjoyable and uplifting, especially to those cocooning at the time. Debbie Murphy was acknowledged for her mobile library to those living alone.

When travel was permitted, BMB Active was quick off the mark, and organised a mini break in Kilkenny, and excursions such as to the theatre to see the Lion King musical.
