The Academic are among the bands performing at the Westmeath Bachelor Festival over the May bank holiday weekend.

The Westmeath Bachelor Festival organisers have announced a host of local talent is to be added to their three-day festival.

Titled the ‘Local Hero’ set, it will be on the evening of the bank holiday Sunday, May 1, after The Country Sessions (7-11pm).

The organisers said that they saw an opportunity to showcase the wealth of talent that Mullingar and Westmeath has to offer and give back to the local music community who have suffered so much through the pandemic.

The full lineup and showtimes will be published on Friday, April 1, on the festival website and the Westmeath Examiner.
