Wants Rochfortbridge looped walk developed

At the March meeting of the Municipal District of Mullingar Kinnegad, Cllr Denis Leonard asked that the authority work with Bord na Móna and the Rochfortbridge Community Loop Walk group on development of a bog walk in the Rahanine area in Rochfortbridge.

“This has the potential to be the Mount Lucas or the Lough Boora of Westmeath,” he stated.

Cllr Leonard suggested that the director of services meet with Bord na Móna in order to look at any way Westmeath County Council can support the project.

“It will benefit all the way from Kinnegad to Kilbeggan,” he added.
